Game this Weekend

I just heard from Craig. He wants to start this weekend w/ a scrimmage. I hope it's not too short of a notice for you. I don't imagine everyone will be able to make it, but we'll do our best. There should be 6 teams in the league this spring so it'll go basically like last year, but supposedly with more reliability as a couple teams have become one and a new team (of relatively young guys) has joined. I don't have Ray's or Juan's e-mail, so be sure to let them know about this and bring a second shirt this week just in case the scrimmage requires it.

The Spring Season

I just got an update from Craig about the spring league. He wants to get people registered ahead of time this year so I will be at the Crow's Nest on March 24th from 7:00-9:00 pm with the paperwork and you can stop by and fill it out then. He's giving everyone who registers early a 10$ discount so it will be 45$ instead of 55$ (I don't know why it went up 5 bucks this year). He's doing this for 2 reasons. 1) So we can arrive to the first game w/o having to deal w/ this stuff and therefore just start playing right away. 2) So he can figure out ahead of time which teams seem serious. We only have access to 3 fields this year so the league will have 6 teams (if possible).Other than being in Canton on the 24th, I am playing on Friday nights at High Velocity so you can find me there too and for the Ypsi-folk, feel free to just stop by whenever you want to my house and we can fill out the form in Ypsilanti. Also, speaking of the Friday night games, there is still room on the house team for the o30 mens 4th division team. It's 45 bucks and 1st come 1st serve so if you want to join that team, let me know and I'll try to get them to hold a space for you. It's 45 $ and the first game is this Friday at 10:00.

The first game will be on Sunday at 5:00. Be sure to be there between 4:00 and 4:15 so we can get everyone registered and warmed up before the game. Remember that we are a bit short handed at the moment and could use any help you can bring. I'll see you all on Sunday. Until then, enjoy these little pieces of soccer fun.

Memorial Day Pick Up Game

Since we don't have a game this weekend, I promised I'd figure out some way to organize a pick-up game on Sunday. Jean and I thought that 11:00AM would be good so as to then have the rest of the day for BBQing and so forth. The plan is then to meet up at Frog Island Park in Ypsi on Cross St. in Depot Town. There are no nets, but I imagien we'll have a pretty small turn-out so it probably won't really matter. Let me know if you paln to make it.

If you're coming from Canton, go west on Geddes to Prospect. South on Prospect to Cross and trhough the little town area until right before the river. Before you come to the bridge, there is a parking lot on the right. There are two parks on the river there. Frog Island, w/ the soccer field, is on the North side of Cross St. I hope a few of you can make it. Afterwards, we can go to one of the Depot Town bars for a beer or twelve.

Spring Season is Around the Corner

The first game of the outdoor season will be on April 22. As of right now, we have 18 people, but w/ the way people miss games on a regular basis, we might want a few more. The line-up is looking pretty strong though:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>Steven

Adam/Jon>>>Dan/Ray/Cal>>>>>Rosco/Scott

Andre/Jim>>Pat/Liz/Roger>>>>>>Eric/Ken

>>>>>>>>Dan/Charlie/Jean

Be sure to bring your $50 and be ready to fill out the paperwork ahead of time so we can get started on time. I believe we will be green again this spring, so bring your old shirts too. You can always get a new one, but we'll try to re-use as much as possible. I'll see you all in April, but until then, here's a little something to hold you all over:
